Advanced Graphics London was founded in Leather Market in 1967 by Chris Betambeau. 1969 Moved to Tooley Street. Chris either worked directly with artists, or for artists
commissioned by galleries and publishers.
1971 Bob Saich joined Advanced Graphics and became a partner in 1977.
1980 Advanced Graphics produced their first own publication, Albert Irvin's screenprint, 'Tooley'. David Wood joined the printing staff.
1983 Moved to Abbots Lane.
1984 Moved to Shand Street.
1988 Moved to Deptford and a woodblock press was installed at the studio. The development of woodblocking techniques combined with heavily screenprinted layers, has become a trademark of Advanced's publications.
1990 Cameron Lindo joined the printing staff.
1993 Tragically Chris Betambeau died.
1996 The publishing side of the business developed and a programme of events
such as art fairs and travelling exhibitions with galleries was formed. The studio was featured by BBC2. Louise Peck joined the publishing staff and became a partner in 1997. 1997 Advanced Graphics celebrated it's 30th anniversary with an exhibition at Berkeley Square Gallery, W1.
1998 Advanced Graphics' first gallery opened dedicated to showing the work produced by the studio. The studio was featured on 'Fresh Art' with Ray Richardson on LWT and repeated on Channel 4.
2000 The website was launched, designed by Emma Ridgway and Fay Davey. 2003 The company relocated to 32 Long Lane, SE1. The studio and gallery were filmed by BBC1. 2005 Advanced Graphics took part in the IFPDA's Print Fair in New York.
